If not set correctly iPads will go sto sleep.  This is not a problem but sometimes can cause a loss of connection to the main database or a slow reconnection.  Go to Settings / General / Auto lock and set to Never.  (Putting the iPad to sleep by closing a Smart cover will only slightly delay a reconnection.)
